Bio…
Formed in 2013, Melbourne’s Horns of Leroy have become one of the country’s premier brass bands. Inspired by the sounds of New Orleans and fused with the energy of the Melbourne streets, the group has earned themselves a reputation for delivering raucous shows built on strong foundations and insatiable energy.
A staple on the local and national music circuits, Horns of Leroy have been performed hundreds of shows that have seen the band grace stages everywhere from The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to Splendour in the Grass; from Dark Mofo to the hallowed Hamer Hall and Marvel Stadium.
Their grand sounds have been heard nationally and on different platforms. Whether it’s been Melbourne’s iconic White Night or the renowned Melbourne International Jazz Festival, through to the Queenscliff Music Festival, Falls Festival and Strawberry Fields, the appeal of a group like Horns of Leroy has proven time and time again to be wide ranging.
Born out of a love for New Orleans brass band sounds and works of the genre’s contemporaries, Horns of Leroy have taken such influences and developed a sound that Australian audiences instantly recognise. Releasing their third album "Monster In Your Head" in 2024.
The band were also featured on a number of tracks on The Cat Empire’s latest album “Where The Angels Fall”.
Since the band’s inception, Horns of Leroy have shared the stage with the likes of Hot 8 Brass Band, Peking Duk, The Cat Empire, Thndo, The Black Sorrows, Vika & Linda Bull, Angus Stone (Dope Lemon), Kate Ceberano, Dylan Joel, and the Rockwiz Orchestra, while touring in support of artists including Gogol Bordello (US), Hot 8 Brass Band (US), Saskwatch and The Black Sorrows.
